291 Baby Corn Recipes | Recipes using Baby Corn | Indian Baby Corn Recipes. Baby corn is commonly available in most vegetable shops and supermarkets these days. Although we call and treat it as a vegetable, it is actually a cereal grain as it is nothing but corn that is harvested before it is mature. It is therefore soft and tender.

Although lot of people love baby corn and buy it every time they go to the market, many are still doubtful about how to cook it. This is because baby corn takes some time to absorb flavours. Sometimes, we tend to add it directly to a dish and wonder why it is bland!

Indo Chinese Baby Corn Recipes

Indo-Chinese appetizers like Baby Corn Fritters, Crispy Fried Vegetables with Burnt Garlic and Chilli Baby Corn are not only quick and easy to make but also, tongue-tickling. The addition of parboiled baby-corn, adds a good crunch to stir fries. The seasonings/sauces can be adjusted as per your preference.

How to Cook Baby Corn

The right way to cook baby corn is to cut it and cook it in hot boiling water with a little salt for 8 to 10 minutes.

Then, drain the water and refresh the baby corn with more water. Now, you can use it to make tasty dishes.

Alternatively, for some starters and snacks, you might be required to marinate the baby corn with salt and spices before using it in the recipe.

Either way, you first need to give it some time to absorb the salt and then use it in the recipe.
