Chutneys are one of the best served accompaniment with most Indian snacks. Whether you think of steamed snacks like dhokla and idli or tava snacks like chila, pancakes and dosas. The best component of chutney is that there is a huge variety to choose from too. For every snack there is a different chutney that accompanies it.

One chutney that goes well with most Indian snacks is Green Chutney. Go a little more creative than plain coriander chutney. Dips are often tagged as ‘unhealthy’ because of the use of loads of cream and cheese. But there are many dips which can be truly be made healthy and wholesome. The best way to do so is to make use of curd instead of fat-laden ingredients.

Prefer low fat curd if you have been advised to restrict the amount of fat consumed. However because salt, sugar and oil form the basis of most pickles, they appear in the avoid list for diabetics.

However, if you are a diabetic who has hypertension as well then you need to restrict the amount of salt used in this pickle. Do not panic. This recipe makes use of only 1/8 tsp of salt for 1 cup of pickle and other masalas like cumin seeds, ajwain and soonth powder kick your taste buds.
