Bengali Sweet Recipes, Bengali Dessert Reicpes

Bengalis are very, very fond of sweets. Meals and tea-time would never be complete without snacks and sweets. Rasgulla, especially, is very close to their heart and not a day goes by without them popping at least one Rasgulla into their mouth!

Many Bengali sweets are made with Chenna, a special type of homemade cheese that is similar to Paneer. Bengali sweets name Mishti Doi is baked yogurt with a rich and creamy mouth feel. Try your hand at making ever-popular Bengali mithai like Chum Chum, Bhappa Doi, Fruit Sandesh and Orange Chennar Payesh at home.

While some traditional Bengali sweets take a long time to prepare, quick-fixes are there to make most of them within minutes. In the past, making mithai meant that the women slogged in the kitchen for long hours, constantly stirring the ingredients till they got the right consistency. Now, there are easy methods to make any sweet and substitutes for many ingredients. Mithais like Chocolate Sandesh and Apple Sandesh can be made quickly with the use of paneer along with a handful of ingredients.

This is one sweet the Bengalis cannot live without, and you too are sure to fall in love with it once you taste these super-soft, milk-white Rasgulla. Remember that everything matters in the making of perfect rasgullas -- from the amount of lemon juice used and the lump-free kneading of the chenna, to the consistency of the sugar water.

Misti Doi is not baked . Pantoya and Chanabara is famous in Berhampore, Murshidabad . It''s made of Chana baked in the Ghee and stir in hot sugar juice . It''s called as Chanabara. Pantoya is something different. It''s made of Moya and maida(flour) . Both mixing together with water lightly like preparation of bread , then shape it round ball , bake with ghee of cow and keep it in the sugar juice. It''s ready. Thanks
