Cheese, Onion and Green Peas Pulao recipe - How to make Cheese, Onion and Green Peas Pulao

Ingredients
3/4 cup grated processed cheese
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
3/4 cup green peas
1 1/4 cups long grained rice (basmati) , soaked for 30 minutes and drained
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 clove (laung/ lavang)
2 piece cinnamon (dalchini) stick
1 bayleaf (tejpatta)
3/4 tsp green chilli paste
salt to taste
1/2 cup finely chopped coriander (dhania)
Method
  1. Heat the oil in a deep pan, add the cumin seeds, clove, cinnamon and bayleaf and sauté on a medium flame for a minute.
  2. Add the onions and green chilli paste and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add the rice and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Add the green peas, salt and 2½ cups of hot water, mix well and cover and cook on a slow flame for 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the cheese and coriander, mix gently and cook on medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot or cool slightly and pack in a tiffin box.

This rice is a perfect recipe for instant cooking as all the ingredients are normally available at everyone''s home..I gave this rice to my husband in his dabba for office lunch and it stayed very well for 6 to 7 hours..He loved the addition of cheese in it and praised the recipe a lot after coming back home..Thank you very much.. I will definitely make this often for my husband’s dabba..
