- Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the garlic for 1 to 2 seconds.

To prepare the white sauce for vegetable au gratin | Indian style veg au gratin | heat the butter in a pan.
Once the butter is hot and melted, add garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 seconds. To make Jain white sauce, skip adding the garlic.
