tandoori hummus recipe is a version Hummus, which is a common Mediterranean dip made with chickpeas and garlic. Here is an Indian style tandoori hummus that is just right for desi food lovers!

While the recipe still retains the traditional hummus ingredients like chick peas, garlic, olive oil, curds and herbs, we have spiked tandoori hummus up further using tongue-tickling Tandoori Masala Powder.

Kabuli chana, also known as chick peas, is the prime ingredient of any hummus. In this tandoori hummus, chick peas are soaked and cooked till done. Tandoori masala, garlic and lemon juice are added to it as flavour enhancers.

Curd and olive oil in this homemade tandoori hummus is to ease the process of blending and give a smooth texture to the hummus. Curd will add on to your protein levels while the olive oil will lend omega-3 fats – the healthy fats known to protect your heart in healthy tandoori hummus.

Imagine packing a nice, satiating tandoori hummus in your kids’ snack box along with something refreshing like cucumber or carrot sticks. it would transform their break into a very jolly and relaxing time. Also, you can make tandoori hummus for a party and serve it along falafel and lavash.

Serve this delicious Tandoori Hummus with pita bread. You can try other desi dips like the Achar Dip and the Thecha Hummus.
