Fruit Chaat, Indian Fruit Chaat. Chaat
are savoury/ sweet snack popular around India. Generally it is made using a myriad of ingredients like chutneys, spices, tikki, samosa, ragda, sev, papdi, puri, boondi etc. But, you can make healthy chaat recipes using nutritious ingredients like fruits, mixed sprouts, boiled moong, chickpeas, low-fat curd and vegetables. Listing down some of my favorite healthy chaat recipes:
For making the Indian fruit chaat recipe, clean and wash all the fruits. Keep them all ready.
Cut the papaya into half, remove the seeds with the help of a spoon. Peel and chop them into cubes using a sharp knife. Keep aside.
After peeling the pineapple, cut the top and bottom portion, remove any remaining eyes. Slice the pineapple away from the core and discard the hard part. Chop the pineapple into cubes and keep aside.
Cut the apple into cubes using a sharp knife. Keep aside. Do not peel the skin as it is very healthy.
Cut the amlas into cubes using a sharp knife. If they are not in season you can omit them and add little lemon juice.
Cut the grapes horizontally into halves. Also, you can make use of green grapes or seedless red grapes if available.
Peel the cucumber and chop them into cubes using a sharp knife. Keep aside.

Add the chaat masala. I have made use of homemade chaat masala made using this detailed recipe of chaat masala powder. For an added tangy flavour, you can also drizzle freshly squeezed lemon juice which will also prevent the fruits from discolouration.
Add the chilli powder.
Add the salt. The addition of dry-spices load the fruit chaat with a burst of flavours. They retain their natural sweetness yet they are tangy and spicy.
