The word "chaat" is from the Hindi verb "chaatna" which means to lick. No Indian can resist chaat, and now this delicious category has earned its share of global fanfare too! Chaat is popularly eaten as a snack and is also light on the stomach. They are easy to prepare and are loved by all. An all-time favourite street food in India, chatpata chaats, loaded with crunchy savouries, juicy veggies, peppy chutneys and spices, are guaranteed to tickle your taste buds. Chaat masala and Kala namak are the quintessential elements in making any chaat. Chaat masala is a blend of spices, which imparts a very enjoyable flavour to all the dishes.

Deep fried lentil balls dipped in sweetened yoghurt and drizzled with different kinds of chutneys and garnished with spice powders, the different texture and flavours make dahi vada the perfect chaat.
Pani puri is one chaat that unites India because everyone loves Pani puri, they have different names for it all over – Golgappe, Phuchka, Gup Chup. The spicy mint water and the sweet chutney made using imli complement very well make a great snack for a hot summer afternoon. They are stuffed with boondi. You can replace it by hot ragda or spouts.
