From North to South, Tomato Raita is a popular accompaniment all over the country. Two tangy ingredients – tomatoes and curds – come together in this super-easy recipe, which requires no cooking.

Seasoned with a dash of spice powders and salt, the Tomato Raita is indeed a tongue-tickling accompaniment, which can be enjoyed with parathas or even biryani .

While it can be had at room temperature, the Tomato Raita tastes best when served chilled because refrigeration enhances the juiciness of the tomatoes and the creaminess of the curds.

  1. Put the curds in a deep bowl and whisk till smooth.
  2. Add all the other ingredients and mix well.
  3. Refrigerate for atleast 1 hour and serve chilled.

I love to use this raita with biryanis, Parathas or with tikkis or I eat it just plain as a dip with my chips too.
