Ingredients

1 clove (laung / lavang)
1 tsp coarsely crushed black pepper (kalimirch)
1 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
5 leaves of basil
1 tsp honey
Method

  1. To make kadha, heat a saucepan, add clove, black pepper, ginger, tulsi leaves and dry roast on a slow flame for a 30 seconds.
  2. Add 2 cups of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  3. Strain the mixture using a strainer in a deep bowl, add the honey and mix well.
  4. Pour the kadha into two small individual glasses serve immediately.

Can we add mulethi to this? Also, As I don''t have any access to tulsi, can we skip it?

Tarla Dalal    Not sure about the effects of mulethi. But you can replace tulsi with mint leaves.

What an amazing Kadha to drink on winter days. Was suffering with very bad cold and cough and came across this recipe. I was very happy with the results of this home remedy as I could avoid taking antibiotics.
