Hot Garlic Sauce

A spicy dip with a predominant garlic flavour, and a dash of tang with the addition of ketchup.

Perparation Time : 5 mins.   Cooking Time:     Makes Approx.1 cup.

3/4 cup tomato ketchup
6 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
6 large cloves garlic (lehsun)
4 tsp oil
a pinch of salt

  1. Pound the chillies, garlic and salt in a mortar and pestle to a coarse paste.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan till it is very hot. Take it off the flame, add the prepared chilli-garlic passte and stir for 10 to 20 seconds.
  3. Add the tomato ketchup and mix well.
  4. Cool and use as required.

This is all in one sauce- spicy, tangy and garlicky..I make this often and serve this with chips or as an accompaniment to starters...
