Saffron Balls recipe - How to make Saffron Balls

500 ml milk
1/2 cup fresh curds (dahi)
1/2 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk powder
10-12 saffron (kesar) strands strands , soaked in water
ghee for greasing
pistachio slivers for garnishing
  1. In a broad non-stick pan, heat milk till one boil.
  2. When milk started boiling, add fresh curd to it and stir the mixture.
  3. When it start curdle, add grated fresh coconut and sugar. Keep stirring continuously till water evaporates.
  4. Add the milk powder, saffron with water and mix well.
  5. Turn off the gas and take out the mixture into another bowl.
  6. Grease your palms with ghee and make 12 equal balls out of this mixture.
  7. Garnish with pistachio slivers and serve.
