For Pudina Raita
1 1/2 cups beaten fresh curd (dahi)
1/2 cup finely chopped mint leaves (phudina)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1/2 tsp black salt (sanchal)
salt to taste

For The Garnish

  1. To make pudina raita, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Keep the pudina raita refrigerated and serve chilled with parathas of your choice.

How to make Pudina Raita:

  1. To made Pudina Raita, take a deep bowl and add the curd into it. Whisk it well to smoothen the texture of the curd.
  2. Add the mint leaves. Use fresh leaves only. Stale or limp leaves will ruin the taste and the mouthfeel of the Pudina Raita.
  3. Now, add the jeera powder for the desired earthy taste in the Pudina Raita.
  4. Add the powdered sugar. This will balance the sourness of the curd. You can skip adding sugar if you wish to. Furthermore, add the black salt. You can also substitute it with Chaat masala for a Chatpata flavour in your Pudina Raita. Finally, add the salt to taste.
  5. Mix all the ingredients of the Pudina Raita (Mint Raita) together with the help of a whisk.
  6. Place the Pudina Raita (Mint Raita) in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Serve the raita chilled with your favourite Parathas or Biryanis.
