Bread Payash recipe - How to make Bread Payash

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 3 servings

500 ml milk
2 bread slices
7 to 8 cashewnuts (kaju)
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
chopped nuts for garnishing
  1. Combine the cashewnuts and bread and blend in a mixer to a smooth powder. Keep aside.
  2. Bring the milk to boil, add the prepared powder, mix well and cook till the mixture thickens.
  3. Add the sugar, spices, mix well and remove from the flame.
  4. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours and serve chilled garnished with nuts.
