500 gms paneer (cottage cheese) cut into finger shapes
1/2 tbsp tandoori masala
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp lemon juice
salt to taste
1/4 tsp freshly ground black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tbsp oil
1/2 cup sliced raw mangoes
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
3 chopped green chillies
2 1/2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
2 1/4 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tbsp finely sliced ginger (adrak)
  1. Combine the tandoori masala and vinegar to make a thin paste.
  2. Add the paneer and marinate for 20 minutes.
  3. Grill the cottage cheese cubes on an electric griller till golden brown and crisp and keep aside.
  4. Combine the lemon juice with salt, red chilli powder and oil in a bowl and keep aside.
  5. In another bowl, combine the onions, mango, green chillies, corriander leaves, chaat masala powder and the lemon juice-oil mixture and mix well.
  6. Add the grilled cottage cheese cubes and toss well.
  7. Serve immediately garnished with ginger.
