Ingredients
2 cups moong dal (split green gram)
1 onion , chopped
salt to taste
15 spinach (palak) leaves
3 green chillies , chopped
1 pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
oil for deep frying
Method
    Method
  1. Clean, wash and soak the moong dal in enough water for 2 1/2 hours. Keep aside.
  2. Wash and pat dry the spinach leaves and keep aside.
  3. Combine the moong dal, ginger and green chilli and blend in a mixer till smooth.
  4. Transfer this mixture in a bowl, add the spinach, onions and turmeric powder and mix well.
  5. Add salt and mix well.
  6. Heat the oil in a kadhai and pour a spoonful of mixture and deep fry till they turn golden brown and crisp.
  7. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
