Here is a sweet and spicy drumstick and potato curry made the South Indian way i. e. Flavoured with coconut and whole spices.

This curry has a predominant garlic flavour and tastes great with steamed rice .

You can also enjoy drumstick in other forms like Drumstick Soup , Drumstick Pickle or Drumstick Dal .

Ingredients

To Be Ground Into A Smooth Paste (makes Approx. 3/4 Cup)

Method

  1. Combine the drumsticks, potatoes, jaggery, salt and 2 cups of water in a deep pan, mix well and cover and cook on a medium flame till they are cooked. Keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a small pan and add the mustard seeds.
  3. When the seeds crackle, add the urad dal and curry leaves and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds, while stirring continuously.
  4. Add the cooked drumsticks and potatoes (along with the water in which they were cooked), the prepared paste and salt (if required), mix well and simmer for another 7 to 8 minutes. Serve hot.

Hamari kokan me drumstick ke ped har ghar me paayii jate hai. Shevgachi itni mast subzi aab khane me banti hai. Mere ghar me tho sabhi ko aachi lagi.

If you want to try something different try this one. Unique curry which is sweet and spicy at the same time. The tamarind gives curry a lovely tangy feel to it .
