Roti, which is an indispensable part of Indian meals, is called Rotli in Gujarati. Be it Phulka , Chapatis or Bhakri, at least one variety of Indian bread is served with Gujarati meals, especially lunch.

Try the famous Thepla, Karela Thepla, Bajra Roti. Puran Poli is a sweet roti made of toovar dal.

Thepla, Karela Thepla are an inherent part of Gujarati meals, and are used for regular meals, travelling and for picnics! eaten with curds and chunda, theplas can be enjoyed hot or otherwise.

Thickly rolled Bajra Roti are cooked over "kanda" (cow dung cakes) in the villages. That is the authentic way of preparing them because it imparts a smoked flavour to the rotis. But here’s a tava version of the famous bajra roti. Bajra rotis can accompany virtually any vegetable or kadhi.
