Ingredients

1/2 cup toovar (arhar) dal
surti kolam rice 1 cup
2 cups soaked rajma (kidney beans)
1 small potato
1 small carrot
2 baby corns, cut into roundels
3 spinach (palak) leaves
3 french beans, sliced lengthwise
pumpkin - small piece cut in cubes
sliced spring onions with greens
few mint leaves (phudina)
garlic 3 pods
tej patta - 2
4 cloves (laung / lavang)
cinammmon - 1 "
fresh whole pepper - 4/5
jeera - 1 T
ghee - 1 T
ginger- green chillie paste - 1 T
garam masala - 1/2 T
turmeric - 1 t
salt as required
Method

  1. Take ghee in an pan. when hot, add whole masalas and garlic. then add onions and saute for 2 min.
  2. Add vegetables and again saute.also add rajma.
  3. Saute for 2/3 min and add garam masala, ginger-chillie paste, turmeric and mint leaves chopped.
  4. Add dal and rice , water as required.(should cover the rice).
  5. Add salt and pressure cook for 15 min. or cook on gas for 20 min.
