If brown bread is used this pudding is very healthy. It can be cooked in cooker too for 20 mts without whistle.

Bread Pudding recipe - How to make Bread Pudding

3 cups milk
7 slices of white bread
1 cup sugar
a pinch of saffron (kesar) strands
a pinch of cardamom (elaichi) powder
a pinch of nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
8 to 10 raisins (kismis)
8 to 10 almonds (badam)
2 eggs
  1. Combine the milk, sugar and saffron in a deep pan and bring it to boil.
  2. Remove from the flmae, add the eggs and mix well.
  3. Add the bread slices and mix well.
  4. Add the almonds, raisins, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and mix well.
  5. Grease a baking tin with ghee and pour the above mixture.
  6. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 30 to 35 minutes at 200 degree celcius.
  7. Serve hot.
