paneer chilli cigars is an easy but irresistible snack, made by rolling a succulent paneer mixture into samosa patties, and deep-frying the cigar-shaped rolls. Learn how to make this easy Indian paneer snack.
To make paneer chilli cigars, make the filling first. For that, heat the oil and saute the spring onions. Add paneer, chilli garlic sauce, salt and cheese and cook for 1 minute. Make some plain flour and water mixture and keep aside. Cut each samosa patti into 3 to get 75 mm. X 62 mm. (3" x 2½") rectangular pieces. You will get 15 pieces in all. Place a portion of the filling at one corner of the samosa patti piece. Roll it up tightly starting from the end where the filling is placed to make a cigar. Seal the edge of the samosa patti piece using a little of the plain flour-water paste. Heat the oil and deep-fry them till golden brown in colour.

For The Filling
3/4 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)
1 tbsp chilli garlic sauce
2 tsp oil
1/4 cup finely chopped spring onions
1/4 cup grated processed cheese
salt to taste

Method
For the filling
- To make paneer chilli cigars recipe, in a deep bowl, combine all the filling ingredients and mix very well using your hands. Keep aside.
How to proceed
- In a small bowl, add plain flour and 3 tbsp of water in a bowl and mix well to make a thick paste. Keep aside.
- Place a spring roll sheet on a clean, dry surface and place a portion of the filling in the center of one side of the sheet.
- Apply the slurry on all the sides of the sheet. Fold two sides of the sheet toward the centre. Roll it up tightly starting from where the filling is placed to make a cigar.
- Seal the edges properly. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make the remaining cigars.
- Heat the oil in a deep kadhai, deep-fry a few cigars on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
- Serve paneer chilli cigars immediately with sauce.
