Onion Cabbage Pakodas recipe - How to make Onion Cabbage Pakodas

2 cups chopped cabbage
1 1/2 cups chopped onions
2 tsp chopped green chillies
1 1/2 cups besan (bengal gram flour)
salt to taste
a pinch sugar
1 tsp dried ginger (soonth) powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
oil for deep frying
  1. Blanch the cabbage and drain the water.
  2. Put the besan in a bowl and mix sodium bicarbonate into it.
  3. Add the cabbage, onions, green chillies, salt, dry ginger powder and sugar.
  4. Mix all the ingredients and pour little water to make a thick consistent batter.
  5. Now heat oil in a kadhai and add a spoonful of hot oil into batter which makes the snacks crispy.
  6. Take a spoonful of batter mixture and add into oil for deep frying.
  7. Deep fry till they turn golden brown and crisp.
  8. Drain and serve hot.
