Baby corn is commonly available in most vegetable shops and supermarkets these days. Although we call and treat it as a vegetable, it is actually a cereal grain as it is nothing but corn that is harvested before it is mature. It is therefore soft and tender. Although lot of people love baby corn and buy it every time they go to the market, many are still doubtful about how to cook it. This is because baby corn takes some time to absorb flavours. Sometimes, we tend to add it directly to a dish and wonder why it is bland!

The right way to cook baby corn is to cut it and cook it in hot boiling water with a little salt for 8 to 10 minutes. Then, drain the water and refresh the baby corn with more water. Now, you can use it to make tasty dishes.

Baby corn is an ingredient that you can comfortably mix-and-match with most others. So, you are not restricted to these recipes or the dozens of others on our website. You can also experiment with it and come up with your own delectable dishes, as long as you know the basic preparation and how to use baby corn!
