Shankar Pale recipe - How to make Shankar Pale

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 servings

2 cups plain flour (maida)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 tbsp ghee
oil for deep frying
2 tsp rice flour (chawal ka atta)
  1. Heat the milk in a deep pan.
  2. When milk becomes hot add sugar and ghee.
  3. Stir till sugar dissolves and ghee melts.
  4. Let it cool till warm, for about 5 minutes,then add the plain flour and rice flour and knead into a soft dough,keep aside for 5 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into 5 portions.
  6. Then roll all the portions one after another and cut into square shape or any shape of your choice.
  7. Deep fry the shankar pale on a low flame till light brown in colour.
  8. Drain on to an absorbent paper.
  9. Cool and serve or store in an air tight container.
