A delicious raita made with palak which is filled with vitamin C and iron. Serve with pulav or parathas.

1 big bunch of spinach (palak)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tsp peppercorns
ghee for sauteing
salt to taste
thick low fat curds (dahi)

  1. Wash the palak leaves and cook them with very little water.
  2. Retain the cooked water.
  3. Saute jeera and pepper corns with half a teaspoon of ghee.
  4. Grind this in a small mixi jar till it is powdered, add palak and the left over water and grind to a smooth paste.
  5. Add the curds and salt .
  6. This is a good combination with rice or with rotis.
