Dominos Style Garlic Bread Stick recipe - How to make Dominos Style Garlic Bread Stick

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     2Makes 1 to 2 servings

Ingredients
1 cup plain flour (maida)
salt to taste
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 to 2 garlic (lehsun) cloves or 1/2 tsp
freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
lukewarm water enough to make a dough
Method
    Method
  1. Take lukewarm water, add sugar, yeast and mix until sugar dissolve, keep it aside for 10 minutes to activate the yeast.
  2. Combine the maida, salt, olive oil, 1 tbsp of melted butter, 1-2 garlic cloves crushed (or half teaspoon garlic powder), add pinch of dried oregano and pepper in a deep bowl and mix well.
  3. Add the yeast water at the center and knead into a smooth dough.
  4. Knead for atleast 10 min, its important to get a soft sticky dough, add little water if required.
  5. Form a ball, grease it with olive oil and keep it covered at a warm place for about 1-2 hours.
  6. Our dough is risen well, now take a baking plate and powder it with corn mill or semolina
  7. Take dough in baking plate and roll it well in round shape same like we roll the pizza dough.
  8. Now fold the dough to give a half circle look (do not press, just fold it gently).
  9. Now give cuts to the dough with a knife, but donot cut it in full thickness, but just a half way through.
  10. Grease both the surface well with enough butter and keep it for baking in oven at 210 degree celsius for 10 minutes.
  11. Now turn the bread to the other side and again let it bake for more 10 min.
  12. Turn off oven, turn the bread again and spread little butter, sprinkle dried oregano and black pepper powder (black pepper powder is optional) and keep it in oven for more 5 min (oven is off this time)
  13. Get it out and serve it with cheese dip and tomato sauce.

Hi ma''am The receipe was very useful. However the only problem I faced was, the bread didn''t changed the colour to brown it was off- white in colour. How can I improvise that?

Hi ! I would just like to ask, if there''s no corn meal, I used the maida, my garlic bread tasted more like a kulcha, is there a fix for that ?

Tarla Dalal    Hi Shashu, the reason we add cornmeal is to give the Garlic bread a crunchy exterior and restaurant like taste. Try and make once again with corn meal.
