Cilantro roti's is a healthy bread recipe with chopped corianders and spice powders added to the wheat dough and then rolled into rotis. Enjoy the cilantro or coriander roti with potato curry or lentil dish of choice.

Ingredients

For The Dough
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
4 tsp oil
1/2 tsp salt or to taste

To Be Mixed Into A Stuffing
3/4 cup chopped coriander (dhania)
2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1/4 tsp levelled , turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
3 green chillies , finely chopped
salt to taste

Method

For the dough

    For the dough
  1. Combine all the ingredients, add enough water and knead into a semi-soft dough.
  2. Knead well and divide into 8 equal portions.
  3. Roll out each portion into a thick rounds with the help of a little flour.
  4. Keep aside.

How to proceed

    How to proceed
  1. Divide the stuffing into 8 equal portions and keep aside.
  2. Brush each dough round with a little oil and spread one portion of the stuffing at the center.
  3. Roll out into a cigar shape.
  4. Make a small round like a coil and press lightly by hand.
  5. Roll out again into a thick roti.
  6. Repeat the same with the remaining dough and stuffing.
  7. Cook on a hot tava (griddle) from both sides till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.
  8. Serve with butter or ghee on top.
