Saatu teej is celebrated on the third day of hindu calander month bhadraprad. It is celebrated all over india by maheshwaris specially in rajasthan. Teej is incomplete without saatu pinda because after seeing the moon, the husband cuts the saatu the same way as we cut cakes on birthdays and then tastes it and the wife breaks her all day long fast. Though this is rich in calories, it is eaten with great pleasure.
Method- Combine the roasted chana dal powder , sugar and cardamom powder in a bowl and mix well.
- Heat the ghee and add to the mixture and rub well using your palms till you get a crumbled mixture.
- Give it a round shape in a plate.
- Garnish with nuts and later cut into desired shape.
