Ingredients

2 1/2 cups plain flour (maida)
1/2 cup curds (dahi)
1/2 tsp baking powder
a pinch of baking soda
2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup oil for frying
1 tsp salt
Method


  1. In a bowl add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. mix well and pass it through a sieve.
  2. Add yogurt and sugar and about a cup of water and mix gradually to make a soft dough by light kneading.
  3. Add two tbsp. oil into the dough and cover the dough with a wet cloth.
  4. Keep it aside for an hour.(the longer the better)
  5. Roll them into small golf size balls. cover and keep to ferment for ten minutes.
  6. Flatten the balls to a round shape of 1 inch diameter.
  7. Then roll into five inch diameter circle.
  8. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry bhaturas on high flame till light on both sides.
