Tufahije recipe - How to make Tufahije

  1. Peel and core apples.
  2. Cook apples in water, lemon juice and sugar until they become tender but still firm, for about 15 minutes.
  3. Carefully take out apples and leave them to cool. Reserve syrup.
  4. Mix ground walnuts, ground hazelnuts, lemon zest and cinnamon-sugar with the 1 tsp. Milk.
  5. Fill cooled apples with this mixture.
  6. Pour syrup over them and garnish with whipped cream and candied cherries.
  7. Serve dessert in dessert cups.
