Strawberry Stew with Banana Custard | Eggless strawberry banana custard | Kids custard pudding |

Strawberry Stew with Banana Custard is a delightful and refreshing eggless dessert that perfectly balances the sweetness of bananas with the tangy freshness of strawberries. This kids-friendly custard pudding is both nutritious and visually appealing, making it a perfect treat for parties, summer evenings, or after-meal indulgence. The recipe combines a juicy strawberry stew with a creamy banana custard, offering a blend of fruity flavors and soft textures in every spoonful. Served chilled, it becomes a cool, comforting, and satisfying dessert for all age groups.

To make the strawberry stew, combine 2 cups chopped strawberries, ¼ cup sugar, and ½ teaspoon lemon juice with ¾ cup water in a deep non-stick pan. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the strawberries soften and the mixture turns syrupy. The sugar helps release the natural juices from the strawberries, while lemon juice adds a refreshing tang. Once cooked, keep it aside to cool completely. This stew of juicy strawberries forms the base and topping of the dessert, giving it a burst of fruity freshness and color.

For the banana custard, mix 2 tablespoons custard powder with ¼ cup cold milk in a small bowl and keep aside. In another pan, heat 1¾ cups cold milk with 2 tablespoons sugar, stirring continuously for 3–4 minutes. Slowly add the custard-milk mixture along with 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, and cook on a medium flame for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and coats the back of the spoon. Allow the custard to cool completely, then stir in ½ cup mashed banana to make it smooth, creamy, and naturally sweet. This banana custard adds a mellow and velvety contrast to the tangy strawberry layer.

To assemble this strawberry banana custard dessert, pour a layer of the prepared strawberry stew into six individual serving glasses. Then add a layer of banana custard, and finally top it again with a spoonful of strawberry stew. The alternating layers of red strawberries and pale yellow custard create a beautiful visual appeal. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving — chilling helps the flavors blend beautifully and gives the dessert a smooth, creamy texture that melts in your mouth.

The flavor balance in this dessert is its biggest charm. The tangy-sweet strawberries and mild, creamy bananascomplement each other perfectly, just as the soft custard contrasts with the slightly pulpy fruit stew. The result is a dessert that’s light yet indulgent, sweet yet refreshing. It’s an excellent choice for kids, who love its fruity taste, and for adults, who appreciate its elegance and natural sweetness without eggs or heavy cream.

Overall, Strawberry Stew with Banana Custard is a perfect fusion of flavor and texture, proving that healthy desserts can be just as delicious as rich ones. The combination of real fruits, milk, and custard powder makes it wholesome and satisfying. Serve it chilled on a warm day or after dinner for a light, fruity finish. With its vibrant colors, smooth consistency, and balanced sweetness, this eggless strawberry banana custard is sure to become a family favorite — a dessert that’s as delightful to look at as it is to eat.
