Daal and Fruits Cutlet recipe - How to make Daal and Fruits Cutlet

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 1 serving


For The Outer Covering
1 cup mashed potatoes
1 cup soaked and boiled mixed dals
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste
2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tsp grated garlic (lehsun)
2 tsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

For The Filling
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1/4 cup grated pear
1/4 cup grated carrot
2 tsp raisins (kismis)
salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste
pepper to taste
For the outer covering

  1. in a bowl combine potatoes, dals, pears, carrots and salt. season it and temper it. keep aside.

  1. Combine all the ingredients for filling. keep aside.
  2. Make balls of covering and flatten it.
  3. Make it round 2 inch and fill it with 2 tsp mixture in center.
  4. Close it and ball it. and flatten it evenly to any desired shape or round.
  5. Roast it on a non stick pan with little ghee.
  6. Keep it in a dish for a while and then pack it. so that the steam doesn't get formed in a tiffin or else the cutlets will get soggy.
