Ingredients


For The Faraali Rotis
1 cup waterchestnut (shingoda) flour
1/4 cup arrowroot (paniphal) flour flour
salt to taste
2 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
2 tbsp choppe coriander (dhania)
2 tsp ghee

For The Basil Spread
1/4 cup hung curds (chakka dahi)
2 tbsp chopped basil
1/4 cup grated apple
salt to taste
1 tsp powdered sugar

For The Filling
1/4 cup boiled and chopped raw banana
1/4 cup finely chopped cucumber
1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
salt to taste
2 tsp roasted cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper powder
1/2 tsp nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
1/4 cup thinly shredded cabbage

To Garnish
grated paneer
grated carrots

Method
For the faraali rotis

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead semi soft dough using water.
  2. Roll 5" diameter and 2mm thick rotis out of it.
  3. Make rotis soon once the dough it kneaded.
  4. Roast it on tava, smear it with little ghee and keep aside.

For the basil spread.

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and keep aside.

For the filling

  1. combine all the ingredients, except cabbage, in a deep bowl and keep aside.

how to proceed

  1. Place the rotis on clean dry surface.
  2. Evenly spread 2 tsp basil spread on to it.
  3. Evenly arrange the filling mixture lengthwise in the center.
  4. Top it with cabbage strips.
  5. Close it from either sides.
  6. Serve immediately.
