A wonderful sauce that adds colour and flavour to desserts! it is worth making this sauce when strawberries are in season. It can be kept in the freezer for some days, although it does not have a very long shelf life. I have used this recipe in making desserts like almond strawberry shortcakes, paneer tarts with strawberry sauce,etc.

1 cup mashed strawberries
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp cornflour
1 tsp lemon juice
a few drops red colour
  1. Combine all the ingredients along with 1 cup of water in a broad non-stick pan and cook on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes or till the mixture thicken, while stirring continuously.
  2. Remove from the flame and use as required.
