Ingredients
For Rasawala Chana
2 1/2 cups soaked kala chana (brown chick peas)
2 green cardamom (elaichi)
4 black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1 cinnamon (dalchini) stick
3 tbsp oil
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
salt to taste
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
To Blend Into A Masala Paste Using 1/4 Cup Water
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped tomato
10 to 12 garlic (lehsun) cloves
1 inch chopped ginger (adrak)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 1/2 tbsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1 tsp chilli powder
Method
For rasawala chana
- To make rasawala chana sabzi recipe, in a pressure cooker, combine soaked kala chana, bayleaf, green cardamom, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon, a little salt and 2 cups of water.
- Pressure cook on a medium flame for 1 whistle on medium flame and 4 whistles on slow flame. Allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
- Remove the whole spices from the cooked chana and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add onion and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the prepared masala paste and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked kala chana, salt to taste and ½ cup hot water to adjust the consistency.
- Mix well, cover with a lid and cook on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Serve rasawala chana sabzi hot garnished with coriander.

Very healthy kala chana dish and good source of protein. The tamrind water lends a lovely flavor to the gravy and jaggery adds the sweetness.

if we make in advance n put more water is that wll be fine or still it wll be dry or thick
