Chinese fried paneer | hot and sweet paneer | Kapi Cho Paneer | Indo Chinese paneer | paneer in hot sweet sauce |

Chinese Fried Paneer, also known as Hot and Sweet Paneer or Kapi Cho Paneer, is a bold and flavorful Indo-Chinese paneer dish that perfectly blends sweet, spicy, and tangy notes. The paneer cubes are coated in cornflour, shallow-fried until crisp, and then tossed in a sizzling mix of garlic, ginger, green chillies, and aromatic sauces. This gives the dish a unique contrast—crispy on the outside and soft inside, making every bite exciting and satisfying.

The combination of tomato ketchup, soy sauce, and red chilli sauce forms the base of the hot and sweet sauce, bringing together vibrant flavors that coat the paneer beautifully. The addition of spring onions enhances freshness and adds a subtle crunch, completing the classic Indo-Chinese profile. As the cornflour slurry cooks, it thickens into a glossy sauce that clings to the paneer cubes, making the dish irresistibly saucy and bold.

This Indo-Chinese paneer recipe celebrates the fusion of Indian spices with Chinese cooking techniques. The garlic and ginger add warmth, the chillies offer heat, and the sauces create depth—resulting in a dish that appeals to both spice lovers and those who enjoy a balanced sweet-spicy kick. The fried paneer absorbs the flavors well, turning the dish into a tangy, vibrant appetizer perfect for parties, gatherings, or weekend indulgence.

The dish is particularly enjoyed for its restaurant-style crispness. Shallow-frying the paneer helps retain moisture inside while giving it a crunchy outer layer. Once coated with the simmering sauce, the paneer pieces transform into something lively and addictive, with a glossy finish that makes it look as good as it tastes. The garnish of chopped spring onionsadds color, freshness, and a final burst of flavor.

Paneer in Hot Sweet Sauce pairs beautifully with a range of Indo-Chinese mains. It complements Hakka noodles, Schezwan noodles, stir-fried rice, vegetable fried rice, and chilli garlic noodles. You can even serve it as a standalone starter, where it shines just as brightly due to its exciting texture and bold flavor combination.

Overall, this Chinese Fried Paneer is a vibrant, saucy, and crowd-pleasing Indo-Chinese delight. Its fusion of sweet, spicy, tangy, and aromatic elements makes it perfect for anyone craving a restaurant-style treat at home. Whether served as a starter or alongside noodles and rice, this dish is sure to elevate any meal with its irresistible charm and bold flavors.
