This basic recipe shows you how to make a slightly thicker white sauce, which is ideal for use in baked dishes.
You can also arm yourself with other basic recipes like Basic Pizza Base or Bread Loaf .
- Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the plain flour and cook on a slow flame for 30 seconds, while stirring continuously.
- Add the milk, salt and pepper powder, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, or till the sauce thickens, while stirring continuously.
- Use as required.
- If the sauce is to be used for later use, add a little milk, mix well and re-heat it.
