Main Ingredients
3/4 cup beaten rice (poha)
3 cups milk
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp cornflour dissolved in 2 tsp
1 cup finely chopped mixed fruits (banana and apples etc.)
For The Garnish
2 tbsp almond (badam) slivers
Method
- Roast the poha in a broad non-stick pan for 1 to 2 minutes or till crisp, while stirring continuously.
- Remove from the flame, cool and grind in a mixer to a coarse powder. Keep aside.
- Boil the milk and sugar in another broad non-stick pan, scrapping the sides, while stirring continuously
- Add the coarsely ground poha, mix well and cook on a slow flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Add the cornflour-milk mixture, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Cool and keep refrigerated for atleast 1 hour.
- Divide the phirni into 4 equal portions.
- Divide the fruits into 4 equal portions.
- Place a portion of fruits in a serving bowl, top with a portion of phirni.
- Repeat step 9 to make 3 more servings.
- Serve immediately garnished with almond slivers.

amazingly quick... as usually with the rice phirni... we have to keep cooking the phirni till the rice cooks and that's when the milk thickens.. but here by using poha.. the time has almost reduced to less that half the time... and for people with a sweet tooth who cant resist the wait... try this recipe... i loved it warm too.. so indulge in..!!!

Thanks madam for your guidance. I try this second time to improve my last mistake i done. I try as you say its look delicious and when i add elaichi powder little pinch wow kya khusbhu said by my son. Me and my son ate it. He just loved it. Thanks madam for a lovely dish.

hello madam, iam harpreet from ludhiana.i tried this recipe tonight.but I feel ki yeh gadi bni.maine 3 cup and 4hissa poha liya, 3cup milk ,9teaspoon sugar li , 3teaspoon cornflour ko 3 teaspoon milk se paste bnaya. onething jab maine milk garam kiya sugar mix kri ubaal aane ke beech poha powder dala uske baad hilana shuru kiya within 3minute yeh gada ho gya.paste mix krke 2 minute aur pkaya.par mere kirpya guide krein taki main isko behtar bna pao.

Hi, You have used more poha.. the quantity of poha is 3/4 cup that is 10 tbsp. rest of your quantity is fine. Try the recipe again and give us your feedback..

which variety of poha to be used ? Thick Or Thin one ??
