Pressure cooking has made life easier for us by reducing the time taken to cook many dishes! Basmati rice can also be cooked using this handy tool, if you use the right amount of water and cook it for the right duration of time.
Here we show you how to make perfect Basmati rice in a pressure cooker. It can be served hot with a dollop of ghee, along with a subzi and dal, or used to make many delectable rice dishes.
Try other basic recipes like Cheese Sauce or Basic Dum Aloo Gravy .
- Soak the rice in enough water for 30 minutes. Drain well.
- Combine the rice, salt and 1½ cups of water in a pressure cooker, mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
- Use as required.
