For the cottage cheese
150 gms paneer (cottage cheese)
2 tbsp butter

For the orange ginger sauce
1 tbsp butter
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp chopped ginger (adrak)
1 orange, segmented
1 tsp cornflour
salt and black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste

For the garnish
1/2 cup shredded lettuce


    For the cottage cheese

    1. Slice the cottage cheese into 25 mm. x 25 mm. x 5 mm. (1" x 1" x 1/5") pieces. Keep aside.

    For the orange ginger sauce

    1. Heat the butter in a pan. Add the chopped onion and ginger and stir for some time till the onion pieces becomes transparent
    2. Add the orange segments, salt and pepper and stir for more time.
    3. Add the cornflour and stir till the onion and orange pieces get a glaze.

    How to proceed

    1. Put the butter in a pan and fry the cottage cheese pieces, browning both the sides.
    2. Remove and place on absorbent paper.

    How to serve

    1. Put some shredded lettuce at the base of a serving dish.
    2. Arrange the cottage cheese slices on the lettuce.
    3. Ladle out the sauce on top on the cottage cheese slices.
    4. Serve immediately.

    1. Do not pan fry the cottage pieces if you want to get criss-cross lines on it as shown in the picture. use a griller instead.
