Method

For sweet potato puranpoli
 

  1. To make sweet potato puranpoli, combine the wheat flour and milk along with little water and knead into a soft dough.
  2. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and keep aside.
  3. Roll out one portion of the dough into a circle of 75 mm. (3") diameter.
  4. Place one portion of the filling mixture in the centre of the circle.
  5. Bring together all the sides in the centre and seal tightly.
  6. Roll out again into a circle of 125 mm. (5") diameter using whole wheat flour for rolling.
  7. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle), grease with ghee and cook on a medium flame using little oil till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  8. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling to make 3 more puranpolis.
  9. Serve the sweet potato puranpoli hot.

Nice low cal version of the regular Puranpoli.

No doubt they don't taste like our regular puranpolis although the texture and the sweetness is so close to the regular puranpoli... that you wont miss the experience... and not to forget that these puranpolis wont leave you feeling guilty, even if you have that one extra poli ..!!!
