Spinach and Mint Juice recipe - How to make Spinach and Mint Juice

Ingredients

For Spinach and Mint Juice
4 cups roughly chopped spinach (palak)
1 cup finely chopped mint leaves (phudina)
1/2 cup roughly chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp jal jeera powder , optional
crushed ice for serving
Method
For spinach and mint juice

    For spinach and mint juice
  1. To make spinach and mint juice, combine the spinach, mint leaves and coriander along with ½ cup of water in a juicer and blend till smooth.
  2. Strain the juice using a strainer.
  3. Add the lemon juice and jal jeera powder and mix well.
  4. Add some crushed ice in 4 small individual glasses and pour equal quantities of the juice over it.
  5. Serve the spinach and mint juice immediately.

For Healthy Spinach and Mint Juice

  1. For Spinach and Mint Juice, first choose spinach that has vibrant deep green leaves and stems with no signs of yellowing. The leaves should look fresh and tender, and not be wilted or bruised. Avoid those that have a slimy coating as this is an indication of decay.   2. Then wash the spinach leaves with water to get rid of any dirt.
  3. Roughly chop the spinach leaves with the help of a sharp knife. Keep aside.
  4. For mint, buy a fresh bunch of mint leaves. Do not buy wilted leaves, buy the bright green ones that have not faded in color.
  5. Pick the leaves from the stems and discard the stems.
  6. Wash the leaves thoroughly to remove any dirt and dust that might be on them.
  7. Finely chop the leaves to make it easier for blending. We will need around 1 cup of chopped mint leaves. Keep aside.
  8. Now you need coriander. Buy the leaves are fresh if they have not become brown and have a fresh aroma. 
  9. Separate the leaves and the stems. We are only going to use the leaves and the soft stems.
  10. Rinse the coriander leaves in water to remove any dirt that might be stuck to them.
  11. Roughly chop the leaves for the Spinach and Mint Juice. Keep aside.
  12. Now to make Palak Pudina Juice, put the spinach in a mixer jar. 
  13. Add mint leaves to it.
  14. Add coriander to it.
  15. Add ½ cup of water. This makes the blending easier and yields the perfect juice consistency.
  16. Blend in a mixer to make a smooth juice. This is how Spinach and Mint Drink looks after blending. 
  17. Strain the juice using a strainer. We suggest you use a high quality mixer for blending so this step of straining can be avoided and most of the fiber can be retained.  

  18. This is how the juice looks after straining.
  19. Squeeze out fresh lemon juice using a lemon squeezer and add it to the prepared juice. This adds a slight tang along with a dose of vitamin C to the juice. 
  20. Add the jaljeera powder. This is optional. Those who want to go completely healthy, can avoid this powder. 
  21. Mix well using a spoon.
  22. Immediately place some crushed ice in a glass. 
  23. Pour the Spinach and Mint Juice over it. 
  24. Serve the Palak Pudina Juice immediately.
