  2. Add ½ tsp of oil to this. Adding oil makes the rotis soft.
  3. Add water little by little. Be careful while adding water. Adding too much of water initially will make it difficult for you to knead.
  4. Mix it well with your hands. Gather the flour from all sides. Add more water if it is required.
  5. Make a soft dough by kneading it for at least 2 minutes.
  6. Keep the dough for chapati ladoo recipe for babies and toddlers | roti ladoo for kids | teething food for babies | homemade baby food recipe aside for 15 minutes. This resting period improves the texture of the dough, makes it easier to roll and makes the chapatis for roti ladoo for kids softer and fluffier.
  7. Your next step is to divide the dough of chapati ladoo recipe for babies and toddlers into 3 equal portions.
  8. Sprinkle a little flour on your rolling board and flatten a portion of the dough on it. This will prevent the dough from sticking to your board.
  9. Roll out each portion of the dough into a thin circle of 6” (roughly 150 mm.) diameter. You can increase or decrease the size of the chapati as per your preference.
  10. Put the rolled-out chapati on the tava. You need to cook it till small blisters appear on the surface. Make sure that your tawa is on medium flame.
  11. Turn the chapati over and cook for about 5-7 seconds on a medium flame till light brown spots appear.
  12. Lift the chapati off the tava with a tong and keep the first side that was cooked on the open flame, it will puff up. Turn it over to cook on the other side as well. Repeat the same steps to make 2 more chapatis.
  13. Tear the chapatis into very small pieces to make roti loadoo for toddlers and place them in a deep bowl or a big plate.
  14. Add melted ghee to it. Melting ghee and adding to the chapati pieces is necessary so that the ghee binds the chapatti pieces well.
  15. Add finely chopped jaggery to it. Do not chop it roughly as that would make it difficult to bind with chapatti and ghee.
  16. Mix very well in between your palms till the chapatti pieces break into more smaller pieces. The mixture finally should look like coarse powder. You can rub the mixture in between your palms till fine also. Alternatively you can use a mixer jar to grind it into a coarse powder also.
