Made with loads of red chillies, pungent onion and garlic, and tangy tomato and soy sauces, the Chilli Dip is a fiery accompaniment that goes well with almost all bland finger foods, especially potato chips and baby corn fritters.

Soaking time:  30 minutes   Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 0.75 cup

10 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
2 tsp roughly chopped garlic (lehsun)
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1/2 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp vinegar
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste

For Serving
chips of your choice
  1. Deseed the red chillies and soak them in enough lukewarm water for 30 minutes. Drain well.
  2. Combine all the ingredients including the red chillies and blend in a mixer to a fine paste without using any water.
  3. Serve with chips of your choice.
