The addition of mushrooms enhances the taste of this already flavourful sauce. Pesto can be easily made at home - by pounding basil, garlic, walnuts and olive oil or you can buy ready-made pesto, available at speciality gourmet stores.

Main Ingredients
3 cups cooked fettuccine
1 cup pesto sauce
3 tbsp butter
1/2 cup sliced onions
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms (khumbh)
1 cup milk
4 tbsp fresh cream
1/2 cup grated processed cheese

Method
- Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and salt and sauté on a medium flame for 3 minutes.
- Add the pesto sauce, milk and cream and mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring it continuously.
- Add the fettuccine, cheese, salt and pepper powder and mix gently.
- Serve immediately.

Tried this recipe today and it really came iut good for instead of cream and milk I used white sauce . very delicious.

Love Fettuccine with Pesto. Remove the cream and cut the cheese to make it an extremely healthy pasta meal. I use it as a carbo loading before my long runs on Sunday morning. Come Saturday night, its pasta time.

Fettuccine gets coated very well with Pesto sauce. Mushrooms give some good veggies to the pasta. I used milk instead of cream and very little grated cheese to make a healthy pasta meal.
