Ingredients

4 tbsp lemon juice
8 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp black salt (sanchal)
2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/2 tsp salt

  1. To make nimbu pani, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and mix well.
  2. Add 4 cups of chilled water and mix well.
  3. Serve the nimbu pani chilled.

How to make Nimbu Pani

  3. Add black salt. Black salt also known as Kaala namak in Hindi is what gives the Nimbu Pani a distinctive flavour.
  4. Add cumin seeds powder. Cumin seeds powder provides a nice subtle flavour to the Shikanji and merges pefectly with other ingredients.
  5. Add salt. Be careful when adding salt as Black salt has already been added to Shikanji. Mix well.

If using grain sugar, use hot water to dissolve sugar fast. In the end, the ice cubes will chill the beverage anyways.

Nimbu paani.. one of my all time favourite drink.. The taste is just to perfection.. with khatta, meetha and salt.. I made this for my guests.. and they had just loved this drink.. I often make this drink.. when i come home after a tiring day.. as it is very very refreshing..
