Chocolate Carrot Loaf recipe - How to make Chocolate Carrot Loaf

Preparation Time:    Baking Time:  40 minutes   Baking Temperature:  180°C (360°F)   Cooking Time:    Total Time:     1Makes 1 loaf

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and fold gently into a smooth batter making sure that no lumps remain.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased and dusted 150 mm. (6") x 87 mm. (3½ ") loaf tin, pat the tin lightly so that the batter spreads evenly.
  3. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360°f) for 40 minutes.
  4. Cool it, loosen the edges using a knife and demould it by inverting the tin over a rack and tap gently to unmould the loaf.
  5. Cut into slices and serve immediately or store in an air-tight container. Use as required.

  1. To test if the loaf is cooked, insert a knife or a skewer into the loaf. If it is cooked, the knife will come out clean.

Hi ! Can we use whole wheat flour instead of plain flour...if yes then please also mention variation in quantity of other ingredients if required. Thank you .

Tarla Dalal    Hi, Honey is only 2 tsp in this recipe, you can avoid it if you wish to. Do not use jaggery syrup.

A treat to oneself!! The combination of carrot and chocolate in a cake has always been a hit..I just dint know that it could be made without eggs...Loved it a very rich and tasty sweet treat!!
