Vanilla Pudding with Chocolate Sauce | eggless vanilla pudding | Indian style vanilla pudding |
Vanilla Pudding with Chocolate Sauce is a classic, creamy, and elegant eggless dessert that combines the smoothness of vanilla pudding with the richness of chocolate sauce. This Indian-style vanilla pudding is made with simple ingredients like milk, sugar, vanilla essence, and veg gelatin, resulting in a silky-smooth texture that literally melts in your mouth. Unlike traditional puddings that use eggs, this version relies on vegetarian gelatin to achieve the perfect set while keeping it light and wholesome. The addition of a luscious chocolate sauce drizzled on top makes every spoonful decadent and indulgent — a dessert that appeals to both kids and adults alike.
To prepare this eggless vanilla pudding, start by combining milk and sugar in a non-stick pan and cooking it on a medium flame until it thickens slightly. Meanwhile, mix veg gelatin with warm water to activate it, then slowly add it to the milk mixture while stirring continuously. The gelatin helps the pudding set beautifully without making it dense. Once the gelatin is well incorporated, the mixture is strained and flavored with vanilla essence, which gives the pudding its signature aroma and flavor. This blend of warm vanilla and creamy milk forms the base of the dessert — soft, light, and irresistibly smooth.
After mixing, the pudding mixture is poured into an aluminium mould and refrigerated for about 6 to 8 hours to set completely. The key to a perfect vanilla pudding is patience — letting it chill enough to firm up yet retain its delicate, wobbly texture. Once set, the pudding is demoulded carefully onto a serving plate and drizzled generously with rich chocolate sauce, which adds contrast and depth. The interplay between the sweet vanilla base and the slightly bitter chocolate topping creates a dessert that’s both comforting and luxurious, perfect for celebrations or special dinners.
What makes this Indian-style vanilla pudding special is its simplicity and sophistication. Despite requiring only a few ingredients, it offers a restaurant-style finish and flavor. The silky pudding and glossy chocolate sauce combination delivers a balance of sweetness, creaminess, and smoothness that’s unmatched. Because it’s eggless, it’s also suitable for vegetarians and those avoiding eggs, without compromising on taste or texture. It can be prepared in advance, making it an ideal make-ahead dessert for parties and festive occasions.
From a health perspective, this vanilla pudding provides calcium and protein from milk, making it a more nourishing option compared to heavy cream-based desserts. You can also make it healthier by using low-fat milk and reducing the amount of sugar, or even substituting part of it with natural sweeteners like honey or jaggery. The veg gelatin ensures a light, easy-to-digest texture, while the vanilla essence adds a soothing aroma that enhances the dessert’s overall appeal. Served in moderation, it’s a comforting and balanced sweet treat that satisfies dessert cravings without being overly rich.
In conclusion, Vanilla Pudding with Chocolate Sauce is a timeless dessert that beautifully combines simplicity, elegance, and indulgence. Its soft, milky base, infused with fragrant vanilla, contrasts perfectly with the silky, decadent chocolate drizzle, creating a truly delightful experience. Whether served at a family gathering or as the finale to a festive meal, this eggless pudding never fails to impress. Light, creamy, and luxuriously smooth, it’s a dessert that brings the best of traditional comfort and modern finesse to your table.

Hi, No rice flour cannot be used. You can add 1 1/2 tbsp of cornflour to the mixture by dissolving in little cold milk and then adding to the hot milk gradually and cooking it till thick and then pour it in the moulds and allow it to set.. serve chilled..
