Ingredients

For Eggless Whole Wheat Tart
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
3/4 cup chilled butter cubes
salt to taste
Method

For eggless whole wheat tart

  1. To make eggless whole wheat tart, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl.
  2. Rub it well using your fingertips until it resembles grainy texture. Gradually add ½ cup ice chilled water and mix well to form a stiff dough.
  3. Allow the dough to rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and roll each portion into 9 inch diameter circle. Cut the roundels using a cutter.
  5. Place each roundel in the tart mould and press it properly from all the sides.
  6. Prick it well and repeat steps 4 to 6 make remaining tarts using remaining dough.
  7. Bake them in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360° f) for 15 minutes until its golden brown and crisp.
  8. Remove and keep aside to cool completely.
  9. Demould the indian style wheat tart shells and use as required.
