This Strained Sweet Lime Juice or Mosambi Juice is a welcome addition to a person’s post-surgery diet , as its naturally sweet and tangy flavour helps to overcome nausea, loss of taste, and so on, which are common problems during convalescence.
We have strained the juice and removed the fibre so that this juice can be had as part of a clear fluid diet by those recovering after a surgery, who are intolerant to food and often suffer from vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea .
Those who are healthy can avoid straining the juice, to retain some of the fibre. For those with diarrhoea, a pinch of salt in the juice helps you to stay hydrated and maintains electrolyte levels in the body. Babies can also be given this juice in the initial months of weaning.
- Peel the skin, add the sweet limes a few at a time in the hopper.
- Strain the mixture using a strainer.
- Serve immediately.
